In the beginning there was a story many of us, as young children, were told about a man and woman who disobeyed God and as punishment they were eternally banished from the Garden of Eden. And as my Christian faith commanded, I believed this story until I woke up, opened my eyes and saw a drastically different story. This isn’t a story of a man and a woman; it’s about us and on the most intimate of levels, it’s about my journey toward truth and a rediscovery of what faith means to me.

I invite you, as a reader, to delve into this book and rediscover your own truth of who we are as people, our spiritual evolution, and reaffirm your powerful position within the history of our human race. It is my hope that together, we will wake from our spiritual sleep and see within the expansiveness of our collective human roots that we are all rooted in the same life-giving soil. The Earth is our garden and we still have paradise within.

Our journey doesn’t just stop at the beginning. And neither does mine. Currently, as the author, I am working on the second installment of the Paradise Within series, titled “The Conscious Evolutionist”. Expanding on the lessons found in “In the Beginning”, I discuss our ability to consciously transform ourselves from detached reactionary beings, who sometimes relish in identifying as the fittest species to visionary cohabitants, who understand our connections, and put love and cooperation above all else. Utilizing our understanding of interdependency and interconnectedness, we can raise our level of empathy and awareness to inspire a paradigm shift toward living with—not on—this planet earth.
